"I am 16 years old, and this book resonates with me through the way the poems are presented. It allows me to see myself within the verses, making me feel that I’m not alone and that others share my experiences. The book features various genres, which adds appeal for everyone. Reading it felt like a continuous story from beginning to end, as I was immersed in learning about different aspects throughout. I appreciate that the book is composed of poems; it keeps my interest alive with something fresh appearing each time."

A poetic story about the girl I fell for

Her eyes shimmer green as Jade

On the edge of a blade

Our romantic escapades

The poetry of us

Our story

Our beginning

"M.Hodge successfully transports the reader into a world where, love, passion, desire and obedience occur away from public gaze. The author delicately allow others to share in the private intimacy of their blossoming love story, to suffer in their heartache, to agonise in their wait and anticipation and live out fantasies that encapsulates the sensuality and the rawness of their emotion, love, and needs"

Nelson Brooks

Nelson embarked on his writing journey 30 years ago initially focusing on poetry, using it as means of self-expression, capturing the essence of the places he had explored, while also finding solace in poetry during challenging times. To date, he has composed over 6000 poems.

In 2016, he released his debut novel, "Rules for A Born-Again Bachelor” followed by "Perry Gene" in 2020 and "120" in 2022.

"The Fair Way" his fourth novel is out now, released 28th April 2025. Available to purchase from the link below.

Nelson Brooks has cherry picked a delightful line up of quirky and lovable characters for this comical crime drama, blending satire humour with a dash of romance.

They say crime pays, but at “The Fair Way,” a shabby golf club, the members’ side hustles and sexual peccadillos create a recipe for disaster, and oh boy, are there going to be fireworks! The faces you meet on the street or  the train, may hide a far darker side when they emerge from the bushes bordering the Fairway.

"The initial line features a thorough description that quickly grabs your attention, making you feel as if you are experiencing the story alongside the characters. This sensation remains as you delve deeper, with the characters' emotions keeping you engaged, The book continues to provide enjoyment through its clever humor and sarcastic interactions among characters. The pacing is slow enough to create anticipation for what lies ahead, yet just right to keep you engrossed from start to finish"
